This is my Crochet Blog. Here is where I will post pictures, info and updates on my crochet, my friend's crochet, and crochet related events that I learn about.
Currently I'm busting my tail to finish some Christmas presents. I have 13 nieces and nephews and decided that this year I would make all of their Christmas gifts. Things went smoothly at first.
I finished a baby blanket for my (at the time) soon-to-be newborn niece, though at the time the gender had not been revealed. That's when I made this:
I felt like I was on a roll so I continued with this one for my nephew:
My attentions began to wane after two consecutive throw sized afghans, but I continued with the makings of 2 separate afghans at once. These were for step-sisters only a few months apart. They always have to have everything the same except that they want to be able to tell who's is whose. So the same blanket for both was began with one having Pink edges and another with Purple.
I was able to complete about a third of the flowers needed before I got distracted by these:
Since then I have returned to the blanket making, but I have decided that 9 more afghans for nieces and nephews plus the two (one for my brother and another for my grandfather) was just going to be too much. So, I came up with a solution. Since there were so many children to make for I would choose one to two siblings every year and their children would get afghans, everyone else will get hats or scarves. This works out great since all the blankets made and in progress are for my older brother's kids.
My in-laws children will begin getting afghans next year. Thankfully, the only people who know I was making afghans for nieces and nephews are my husband and my mother.
