Firstly, I need to show off the gift my husband gave me. These are the rainbow set from Knit Picks. I love them.
I was so excited, I needed to make something with them. So, I began making socks. Since my heater isn't working yet, I'll be making good use of them.
Currently I'm a student at the local Community College and one of my classmates learned that I can make things, so she asked if I'd make her a hat, so I at least started it.
Onto the meeples! I don't know if you recall this picture that I took about a week ago; in the literal ten minutes that I had a light box...
But I began turning them into things this week. I have made several pairs of earrings(not pictured, sorry), some wine charms, I've cut holes for the bracelets and I have been able to start with necklaces. There are a lot of other things I plan to do with these, I'm just working a little at a time.
The above is the holes I cut for necklace and wine charm pieces.
This is the side view showing the two holes for the bracelets. They'll each have two elastic threads that will make it easy to put on and take off.
The above picture is of a completed wine charm. I used some earring wires and cut and bent the wire to fit my needs. I have five sets of four of these. And below is a bag of drilled Meeples with the wire running through. Sorry I was too lazy to stage these.
And since I'm a fan of Meeples I wanted to make some Christmas ornaments. Even though Heroicon is in May, I think these neat little pieces will catch someone's eye.
This coming week I'll be making small boxes for the jewelry and finishing some of that. I might also have more meeple ornaments, only this time just the meeple shape. I'd also like to get a few other projects completed. I'll keep you up to date.
This month is going to be a toughie with all the things I have going one. I'm taking two classes(Math and Japanese), working part time, doing my crafts and trying to write 1667 words a day for NaNoWriMo. Wish me luck!
